How many ways can I load vidio feed onto my computer?

I have a video advantage video capture device that has failed to capture anything other than dust on my shelf.
would not receive any signal from any source.
Now I am looking for more creative methods. any Ideas?
If you were using a video capture device, I’m assuming you have an analog camera, is this true?
If it is, you’re pretty stuck unless you buy a different video capture device (USB or integrated into your video card) or you copy your video to digital tape medium.
If you’re using a digital video camera then you can connect the camera to your computer via Firewire cable.
You’ll need a 4pin to 6pin Firewire cable, and either a PCI Firewire card for your desktop’s motherboard or a PCMIA Firewire card for your laptop’s PCMIA cardslot.
Once you get them all connected and powered on, put your camera into VCR/Play mode and use Window’s Movie Maker to capture the video and convert to whatever format you wish.
You can download Window Movie Maker for free from Microsoft here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/moviemaker2.mspx
Hope this helps!
