Ironically, this was the first music video to be shown on MTV. It was the forerunner of many videos to come and yet it spoke of the longing for an era when music stood on its own, independent of image and fashion. A lot of us feel that today’s pop music has lost its vitality and originality because appearance has become so important to the music industry.

   i think what it means is that before music videos the songs were signifigant and produced imagination to people. so video killed the radio star. idk thats what i think about it

   Uh wow I seriously have no idea if I had to guess it would probably be that television ruins our lives or that you can be famous locally but once you’re on television or something you’re basically ruined. Which is totally understandable because a lot of people who do get famous and are on tv constantly tend to ruin their lives with drugs, scandals, etc. Interesting question I never thought about the significance of a music video before.
