Can I make money doing shows in Massachusetts where I perform my music, if I can ,where do I go for more information?
it realy depends on how "good" your music is
i mean, your music has to be really good in the eyes of the world inorder for you to make any money
but my suggestion is that if you want to be a music performer, have a backup job or do it in your spare time because its really hard to get discovered and you dont want to end up broke!

You can, but you need to be knowledgeable in the world of playing gigs so you don’t get screwed over. Your music must be good, you need to be able to take requests for popular tunes from your audience (this varies on the audience’s general age), have a standard asking rate, already own the equipment you need….
….on top of that, your music needs to be at least respectable. When you start in the beginning, you may not get away with new-age music with strange chord progressions that people can’t identify with.
I suggest you team up with a veteran as a mentor.
