This was my favorite scene from the movie. I could never understand why Beyonce didn’t get the recognition she deserved for her work in this movie. This single is far better than any of the other songs from the movie, imo. She was great in Cadillac Records, too.

This is the the …
This is the the most powerful song I’ve heard Beyonce’ sing, and it honestly brings tears to my eyes. I feel the pain of the character with the way the scene plays out and through every line she sings. I feel like Beyonce really threw herself into this song, because there’s such a feeling of raw emotion in it. I’ve taken a lot from this song into my own life and found it time to find a backbone. This is truly an inspirational song, to anyone playing the role of an abused underdog.
