“Leave Me Alone” was the eighth single to be released from Michael Jackson’s 1987 album Bad. It only appeared on the CD versions of the album and was not issued as a single in the United States. The song was also featured as a segment in Jackson’s 1988 fantasy movie Moonwalker and charted at #1 in the UK’s New Musical Express. The song was re-released on April 17, 2006 as part of the Visionary: The Video Singles set.

On the official Radio One UK chart, the song peaked at number two, held from the top spot by Simple Minds Belfast Child song and was the 44th best-selling single of 1989 in the UK.

Despite the success of the single, this song has never appeared on any of Jackson’s world tours.

The music video for “Leave Me Alone”, directed by Jim Blashfield, won the Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video at the Grammy Awards of 1990. The video was also featured in Moonwalker. In essence, the video is an amusement park consisting of stylistically crude images based around Jackson’s successful career since 1982’s Thriller. Consistent with the song’s lyrical content, there is an emphasis on the tabloid view of Jackson’s personal life and public image, referring to the nickname “Wacko Jacko” given to him by the press, and the various headlines associated with him in the 1980s. Lampooning rumours that he tried to purchase the “Elephant Man’s” bones, Jackson dances with stop motion “Elephant Man” bones in the video. This particular segment (without the image of the bones) was used for the single’s cover art. At the end of the video, it is revealed that a gigantic Jackson himself is the amusement park. He breaks free, tearing the park to pieces.

This VCRS version of the clip contains the audio stream as it appeared on the CD Album i.e. no background sound effects. We thought it would offer a nice rare alternative for fans.

Despite being a classic video clip & song it rarely appears on any official (post album) releases. But to their credit the original video clip (with the sound effects & minus the logos lol!) can be viewed on Michaels own YouTube channel via the following link:

*Note: If you are a Record Company employee or artist(s) themselves who object(s) to this commercially unavailable video footage being promoted on YouTube (albeit in a lossy mono audio format) then please contact us to have it removed before flagging it. At the same time you may also like to explain to the fans why they cannot access this classic material in a decent quality digital format anywhere else?

You wont make a profit on something that cannot be purchased but enough exposure may well help sell what you actually do have for sale. Meanwhile to share ones talents is the greatest of gifts!

Please also be aware that all videos uploaded to YouTube are format shifted by the host website from the original files. This can often cause picture & sound deterioration (i.e. mono audio) as well as the occasional video/audio synchronization issue. The files are also deliberately layered on our end with logos and artists links in order to prevent YouTube recycling by lazy up-loaders, while at the same time helping to promote the artists themselves!

Where can I find a MP3 version of Classified’s new album, "Self Explanatory"? I can’t buy it on iTunes because you have to have a Canadian credit card and address. So where can I purchase it or download it for free?

Because I’m such a swell guy.

What’s the racket heard at the intro of the Beatle’s Revolution (album version)?

Posted on June 21st, 2010 by admin

I’m a huge Beatle fan. But one thing I have never been able to identify in their music is the interference heard in the beginning of the White Album’s version of Revolution. Can anyone identify the sound?
I’m referring to what almost sounds like a fork caught in a garbage disposal.

It’s one of two things a fuzz box, or maybe the plugged straight into the mic input and cranked it to get that distorted sound.

What would you consider to be the real version of a hit song, the single version or the album version?

Posted on June 18th, 2010 by admin

It seems like most single versions of a hit song are different in some way from their original album versions: time length, lyrics edited or replaced, remixed, etc. Radio usually plays the single version, but which one would be considered the ultimate version, and the other secondary?

Personally I always prefer the live version but there you go

Is The Song One Day by Trading Yesterday (More Than This album version) on The Zune Marketplace?

Posted on June 15th, 2010 by admin

I was thinking of getting a Zune HD next year (I outta get a Windows 7 computer as well, so I can use the marketplace), I would like to know if the song One Day is on the Zune Marketplace so I could download it if I wanted to. Is it?

Yes, it is. But it’s the one from the movie "Stealth" soundtrack. I think that they both sound the same. But yeah, they do have it on there.
